No I'm not here to hype the Playin' from this nite. (The reviewers have that nailed. It's great and overrated at the same time. To paraphrase another's wisdom regarding Dark Star, there's 23 Playin's in the top 5 from the Fall of '72 sooooo.... discussions about which tops the list are perhaps academic at best).
And what TDIH stands for HERE is Ten Days in History. (OK-It's only nine).
But have always been partial to Fall '72, and this swing through Texas around Thanksgiving is a fine sampling of a band at the height of their powers. Great sound. Great ensemble playing. Everybody's present, everybody's listening.

Ill hype that Playin' from the 19th for sure...Fall of '72 is amongst the highest of the highs for the band imo. Three of my picks come from Nov-Dec of '72, and they all revolve around the jazzy extended jams and the cowboy tunes from this amazing handful of shows..Cheers!
